Privacy
This page says what InterchangeHQ does with information about you. In short: we collect as little as the lookup needs, and we do not sell it.
What we collect
- Searches. The year, make, model, part and OEM number you type are used to answer the lookup. We keep a light record of lookups so the hourly limit can be enforced and so we can see which vehicles are missing from the catalogue.
- Submissions. Anything you send through Contribute data — the vehicle, the part, the OEM number, where you read it, and your email if you choose to give one — is stored so it can be reviewed.
- Administration. The staff area uses a login and an authenticator app. Your sign-in session is held in your browser storage so you stay signed in while you work.
Cookies
The public pages set no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, and there is nothing to opt out of. If we later add analytics or a captcha that needs one, this page is updated and a cookie notice appears before it is switched on.
Who sees it
Our hosting, database and storage provider processes this information on our behalf under contract. We do not sell it, and we do not share it for marketing. Submitted emails are used only to follow up on that submission.
How long we keep it
Pending submissions are kept while they are under review. A contribution that is approved becomes part of a published code record and is kept with it, because that is the point of the catalogue. Lookup records are kept only as long as they help with capacity and coverage.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be removed — use the contact route and we will handle it. If you would rather not leave an email at all, submit without one; the review still happens.
Security, children and updates
The staff area is closed off in the database itself: a request only works if it comes from a registered administrator who has also passed two-step verification, so hiding a button in a browser protects nothing on its own. The site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect their information. If this page changes materially, the date below moves.
